Ride It Out Of The Box

Ride It Out Of The Box

Every bike from Cycling Express delivered to Australia and New Zealand is fully checked using our 21-point safety check system before dispatch, and will arrive at your door ready to ride straight out of the box. Each new bike is assembled & test ridden by one of our NMIT accredited mechanics, then packed into one of our special bike boxes.
A small amount of assembly taking approximately 5-10 minutes is needed when you receive your bike. If you have any questions about this process our customer support staff will be happy to help you out- simply send an email to help@cyclingexpress.com and we’ll make sure you get on your way.

Our totally awesome bike mechanics

Every bike we supply is fully assembled, checked, tested, loved and caressed by one of our NMIT accredited bicycle mechanics. NMIT accredited bicycle mechanics have a high level of skill in a variety of diverse areas. This guarantees that our bike mechanics have the meticulous skills needed to properly assemble your bike to make sure that it will be safe for you to ride and provide you with lots of satisfaction over the years to come.

Assembling your bike before we send it to you

As soon as we have taken your order we will assemble your bike new out of the box. It generally takes us a few hours to get everything running nice and smoothly, so bikes will usually be shipped out 48 hours after they have been ordered.

Going for a spin - test riding your new wheels

When we have assembled your new bike one of our mechanics will take it for a spin on our specially designed test course to check that it rides well, and that everything is working as it should be. After that the trusty mechanic assigned to you will say a few kind words to your new steed and offer a short prayer, entreating your new bicycle to be kind to you at all times, and be your faithful companion for many years to come.

Packing, dispatch and delivery

By this point we are 100% sure that your bike is up to scratch, both mentally and physically so we pack it carefully into one of our special boxes. All you have to do when you receive and open the box is remove the bike, put the pedals on, turn the handlebars and tighten the stem and head bolts (only 3 bolts). This should only take you about 5-10 minutes as the instructions we send to you with the bike clearly outline this very simple process.

You will need to arrange for someone to be present at the delivery address to take your bike. If there is no one present to sign for the bike the couriers will leave a card with there details so that you can contact them to arrange pick-up or another delivery. Please remember that delivery can take a little longer if you are live in a regional area.
